Somewhere along the Bruce highway during a lunch stop, I photographed this shrub I hadn't seen before. It caught my eye as it looked like an oversized Tropaeolum, a Garden nasturtium. Now Sno, a visitor of my site living in Queensland, told me this was in fact a species of Bauhinia, the orchid tree. It's common name was indeed Nasturtium Bauhinia, so I wasn't too far from the truth. It originates from South Africa, so if you want to learn more, click here and go to a South African website. |
