There are many beautiful sites in the Outback, but the probably most beautiful one to me was Standley Chasm. The red rocks, blue skies, white ghost gums, olive cycadees, friendly wallabies and even a water containing creek made the place quite unreal. What you see on the left here, is at the beginning of the track and in real life it looks much more like the rockery of a botanic garden than it does on the picture.
The Chasm itself. Sure it looks impressive, but the whole impression is not a solo, it's an orchestra concert. Note these rocks are some many metres high, a human being between would look pretty small. ![]() Little white flowers growing next the chasm. |
