On Lady Elliot the Noddys were the first inhabitant we noticed. In late October they simply sat everywhere as it was the beginning of their nesting season. When observing them one felt a bit sorry for the male ones. After having a hard job sometimes bringing nesting materials the female simply rejects it. But she really hasn't much reason to claim high standards - the nest she makes is a quite messy one. On the other hand side: many terns don't make a nest at all.Apart from the Common Noddys there are also White-Capped Noddys on Lady Elliot. ![]()
